About US

Bride:

I was born and raised in Stockton, CA and ever since I could remember, I was determined to leave that silly little podunk place. I stuck around long enough to finish up school and get a decent resume, but when I found out I was headed to N.C. for my Brother's wedding, this is when I got my little harebrained scheme....I figured this would be my perfect opportunity to make my way out to the D.C. area. I honestly had no intention in staying long term, but let's be real, I didn't really have much of a plan for anything! =) Long story short, I found a job right away, had not a problem finding a place to stay, and had very little reason to go home to CA. I won't say I've never looked back, because the beginning was certainly hard coming from a home where "everyone knows your name" to a place I couldn't find a Starbucks...(SOLELY relied on my GPS for everything)! So, what do you do when you move to a place you don't know anyone and can't find anything? You GOOGLE in search of people that do! =) So, I was in search of a roommate that knew the area and could show me around...this led me to Mike & Jill. The first year living with these two awesome roommates, Mikey had quite a few friends over for poker nights and fun-I had met so many people-I was right at home.

Groom:

Even though born in Montgomery, AL, I have spent most of my life in the Washington DC area. I grew up all around the DC metro area, specifically Burke, VA, which is where I met my best friend, Doug. When I finished high school I left for Blacksburg, VA as a new student to Virginia Tech. GO HOKIES!! There, I joined the fraternity ZBT, which became a second family to me. After taking an extra semester to finish up my Accounting Information System Development degree, (really just an excused to stick around for another football season), I moved back to Northern VA with my brother and moved in with him.

How they met:

Breanne had met this "nerdy" guy Lance a few times when he would come over to hang out with his friend Mike, (her roommate...is it all coming together now)? They really knew nothing about each other until Lance joined Mike, Jill, and Bre for dinner almost an entire year after the first time they met at the apartment in passing-little did they know where one dinner would lead to...but it didn't happen right away... =p
About a month after that one dinner and no contact between Lance and Bre, Mikey invited her and Jill to Eric's Birthday Party (Eric-Lance's brother). Jill made a last minute change and decided she didn't want to go so Breanne was unsure if she should go with Mikey, but after Mikey's compelling argument why she shouldn't bail, she ended up going after all. (Best decision EVER)! =)
Breanne being the social butterfly she is, ended up making a lot of new friends... including Lance's dad, Dennis. Throughout numerous conversations they had that evening, he ended up volunteering Lance for all sorts of things....like helping Bre move from her apartment in Fairfax, to her townhouse in Herndon the following weekend; take her on a road trip to Chicago for fun, and all sorts of things of that nature....this all without them remembering who each other really was...so of course he had to re-introduce them.
After all this, they still didn't have a clue where this should be leading! So fate tried again... A few days later, a group including both Lance and Bre, among mutual friends, all went to a Nationals baseball game in D.C. Breanne was indecisive on driving in or venturing to the never been used Metro, Lance convinced her to ride the metro with him... (since she was a sheltered child never using public transportation).
As the Nationals were losing once again, Lance and Bre went off in search for Papa John's pizza and got to know each other a bit better! Breanne quickly learned Lance=nerdboy...which meant he could fix ALL her laptop problems...hook, line, and sinker! (Lance seems to get sucked into volunteering for things involuntarily..heheeh). However, he didn't seem to mind much.
Without wasting time, Lance called Bre the next day, (while she was shopping for house wares), to ask if she was free to bring her laptop over so he can fix it. Lance was so persistent with seeing her that night, he INSISTED on meeting her at the store and offered to help her finish up her shopping! (We all know Lance can't stand shopping). Knowing she looked like a train wreck in a hoodie, hair bundled, and no make-up, she ran down to buy whatever top she could find and the make-up counter to freshen up...how could she let him see her any other way?!
Three years later from that birthday party, he's helped Bre move twice, took her to Chicago to see all the sights, fixed her laptop problems, and much much more!
